Car companies are working on hybrids that won't be ready for 10 years yet gas is up in price, and inventory of crude is really low. We better get used to walking I suppose. Depressing stuff- a lot of short sightedness on our governments part, the car makers part, and our part for loving our SUVs.

Inspiration for pedal cars

This is what first inspired my dream of a pedal car- a laptop.

You see, this laptop was developed for kids in 3rd world countries. You charge it's battery by turning a handle.

Couldn't this technology be applied to a battery in a car that is charged by pedaling?
